who are we?

Dorothee and John are bound together by a love of food, but more than anything by the love of great food. Our meals include our home cooked traditional favourites as well as some very special dishes with global influences. Every meal is cooked with a passion borne out of a real enthusiasm for what we do.

From our small kitchen unit on the edge of the Cotswolds we bring together the best locally sourced ingredients and using traditional techniques our talented chefs make small batches of really flavoursome meals. Every meal we make is full of carefully balanced flavours and is carefully portioned for you by hand.

Why Cheat?

what makes us different?

Firstly we make everything ourselves in our kitchen at Shenington – and we mean EVERYTHING. We roast and grind our own spices, blend them to our recipe and make our own sauces. Nothing is “out-sourced” to other companies. We make every single meal by hand with the best quality ingredients from our local supplier partners.

Secondly, we do all of the above with great care and a passion for producing food that is always flavoursome, authentic and in many cases unique. We travel far and wide sampling cuisine from different countries, always seeking exciting dishes that you will want to eat again and again. Then we take it to our home kitchen and make it again and again – until we can’t make it any better. Only then do we make it for you.

Quality over price every time. You can’t make a great meal with poor quality ingredients. All our ingredients are locally sourced from quality butchers and greengrocers and we pay a fair price for them

it’s all about the flavour

We make food for the enjoyment of eating, as well as for convenience. Every meal cooked is tested by John and Dorothee and if we don’t think it is fabulous it won’t go on sale. Every meal must be expertly cooked and full of flavour before we will send it to you

leave no footprint

We have invested in the most energy efficient equipment possible for cooking, storage, cleaning, and lighting. All packaging received is recycled and all packaging we use for meals and for transport is fully recyclable. Food miles are reduced to the minimum by our strategy of local sourcing and our delivery solution partner has been carbon neutral since 2012
